Student Leadership Update and Achievements

  • Teacher Appreciation Post Cards.
  • Deputy and Head Prefects supported Y11 Parents evening, Y9 Parents Evening and the Careers Fayre.
  • Prefects met with Chris Evans (Wolverhampton Youth Council) and signed up to Initiatives/ groups within Wolverhampton to support the community.
  • Y8 Prefects/ Health Champions worked with Sunita from Wolverhampton Council to plan and lead activities for Mental Health Week.
  • Wolverhampton Youth Council officially inducted Sienna, Hephzi, Teja and Scarlett.
  • Sienna Ahir- Youth Select Committee, representing the West Midlands.
  • Student Leadership Photo Displays– students can see our prefects outside the Lecture Theatre, so if you would like your voice to be heard, please speak to your Student Leadership Team

Wolverhampton Youth Councilors

Congratulations to Teja Cipariene (7SH), Scarlett Rutter (7PH), Sienna Ahir (11JN- Youth MP) and Hephzibah Kalapala (10BN- Officer) who have officially retained/new members of the Youth Council

Youth councillors work with the City of Wolverhampton Council’s directors and councillors to promote the voice of young people and encourage them to get involved in their community

Youth MP – Sienna’s Journey so far

Since starting her journey as Youth MP, Sienna has taken many opportunities, such as:

  • Elected member of the Youth Select Committee, representing the West Midlands as one of 12 young people, leading the first youth led inquiry into social media and youth violence.
  • Questioned Government ministers, CEOs and decision makers in the House of Commons
  • Been broadcasted on BBC Parliament
  • Completed radio interviews on Youth Violence
  • Met with MPs and Councillors
  • Debated in Parliament
  • Completed work experience inside UK Parliament
  • Represented Heath Park on Youth Council and other youth forums
  • Won Rotary’s Young Citizen of the Year
  • Fundraised for SNAP, Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie
  • Founded campaigns
