School of Rock Year 9 Drama

On Thursday 23rd September, year 9 GCSE Drama students visited The Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton to watch ‘School of Rock’.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the show and enjoyed clapping along to the live music the characters performed live.

Mrs Creighton said “It was lovely to see students engaging in live theatre now that restrictions have been lifted. Opportunities to watch live theatre provide young people with the chance to develop a wide range of skills, including empathy, understanding and respect. Live theatre also develops knowledge and understanding of how live performances are created, the purpose of performance and how meaning is communicated to an audience.”

The students behaved impeccably and were role-models to the school. Thank you parents and guardians for your continued support, without which, opportunities such as these would not be possible.
