Goals of a Student Leadership Programme
- Develop Leadership Skills
Equip students with skills such as communication, decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, and emotional intelligence. - Encourage Personal Growth
Help students build self-confidence, resilience, and responsibility. - Foster a Positive School Culture
Promote Heath Park values: be Ready, Respectful, Responsible, and community service to create a supportive environment for all students. - Empower Student Voice
Provide students with opportunities to express their ideas, take initiative, and participate in school decisions. - Enhance Academic and Extracurricular Engagement
Encourage students to take active roles in academic, artistic, sports, and community service projects. - Prepare Students for Future Roles
Develop transferable skills and experiences that prepare students for higher education, careers, and civic responsibilities.
Code of Conduct
Prefects must adhere to the following:
- Display Heath Park Values and Traits in all interactions.
- Be punctual and reliable in fulfilling their duties.
- Refrain from using their position for personal gain or favoritism.
- Maintain confidentiality where necessary. the school or prefect team into disrepute.
Training and Development
Prefects will undergo:
- An initial induction programme covering leadership skills, conflict resolution, and responsibilities.
- Ongoing leadership workshops or mentoring sessions throughout their tenure.
Accountability and Review
- Prefects must submit a Leadership Log on their activities and experiences.
- The school leadership team will conduct regular reviews of performance.
- Prefects who fail to meet expectations may receive warnings or, in serious cases, be relieved of their duties.
Benefits and Recognition
Prefects will:
- Gain leadership experience and develop key skills for future endeavors.
- Receive certificates of recognition and commendation.
- Be acknowledged during school half termly updates and recognised on screens around school.
